It's 18th June 2007 today and if any of you have notice, half a year has already passed. It has definitely been a dramatic half a year for me. Graduating, moving to Beijing to work, last Chinese New Year spent with mom, missed grandfathers birthday gathering, missed mom’s birthday party, quarrel with Serene and finally mom being called home. I still trying to recover from the sudden lost of someone you love so dearly.
Anyway, I am back from in Beijing since yesterday evening. Reached Beijing at about 2315 and I'm out of the airport around 2345. To me, the total time taken at the Beijing’s customs was considered fast, comparing it to the previous experience I had.
I booked my SQ tickets online and I picked 57K as my seat, which is the last row of the plane and I was expecting to be sitting alone. Unfortunately, the flight was full and I was sitting beside an "Ang Moh". Well, most people would think that most "Ang Mohs" are civilized and gentlemanly. The “Ang Moh” neighbor I had was far from being a gentleman. From my observation, this "Ang Moh" thinks that he's "king" when he is traveling on an economy cabin, demanding this and that. First, he took his shoes off even before the plane left the "dock", then he lift his left leg up and placed it on the arm rest of the seat in front. How slightly... As we were seated at the last row of the plane, by the time the stewardess served our dinner, the oriental selection was out and we had to take the "western" food (Chicken something...), then he said that the food was cold and so they changed a heated one for him. Then without even taking a bite at it, he said the food was bad and asked the stewardess to remove it. The leading air-stewardess saw what happened and came over to talk to him offering him other meals available on the flight. He rejected her rudely and asks her to stop talking. Rude...
For my conclusion, most of the unfriendly and bad-mannered "Ang Mohs" I've met are when they are in China, and for this case when going to China. So am I right to say that “Ang Mohs” feels that they are "king" in China... They better do something about their attitude toward the Chinese...
